We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at info@laughbooker.com.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- visitors to our website;
- people who book acts or send enquiries ("bookers");
- comedians, organisers, venues and agents who create an account;
- agents who manage the profiles and bookings of the comedians they represent;

3. The information we collect
Information you give us:

- Profile details: stage name, biography, location, comedy style, fees, availability, photos, video links and social media handles.
- Booking and enquiry details: event date, location, venue, event type, capacity, budget, messages and contact details.
- Payment details: deposits and payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits and card type.
- Agent and roster details: an agent's own account details, plus the details of the comedians they represent, such as profile information, availability, fees, booking history and messages that the agent adds or manages on the comedians' behalf.
- Venue and organiser details: venue name, address, capacity and contact details.
- Communications: emails, WhatsApp messages and other messages you send to us or through the platform.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
Information we collect automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, links clicked, device and browser type, approximate location from IP address, and referral source. This is collected through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Security data: Cloudflare Turnstile checks form submissions to prevent spam and abuse.
- Log data: IP addresses, timestamps and error logs kept by our servers for security and troubleshooting.
Information we collect from other sources:
- Unclaimed comedian profiles are created from publicly available information, such as a comedian's public website, social media profiles, published videos and promoter listings. They typically include the comedian's name or stage name, a short description, public social media links and follower counts, and links to publicly available videos. See section 6.
- Promoters and organisers may add comedians or event details when listing their events.
- Ticketing and event platforms we connect with, such as Eventbrite and Data Thistle, may share booking or event data where you have used those services.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced our interests against your rights. You can ask us for details of that assessment.
5. Who we share your information with
We share personal data only where necessary:
- Other users, to make bookings work. For example, a booker's enquiry details go to the comedian, agent or organiser concerned, and a comedian's public profile is visible to site visitors.
- Agents, where a comedian is managed by an agent on Laughbooker. The agent can see and manage that comedian's profile, availability, enquiries, bookings and related messages.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract, including providers of:
- hosting and data storage;
- payment processing (Stripe);
- email delivery;
- messaging (WhatsApp Business);
- analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity);
- security and spam prevention (Cloudflare).
- Event platforms, such as Eventbrite and Data Thistle, when an organiser chooses to publish an event to them.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants.
- Authorities, where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Unclaimed comedian profiles
Some comedian profiles are added by us or by promoters before the comedian has joined Laughbooker. These profiles:
- contain only information already publicly available;
- are clearly labelled as unclaimed;
- do not mean the comedian is affiliated with, endorses or has agreed to be booked through Laughbooker;
- can only receive enquiries, which we may pass to the comedian or their representatives. We take no payment for bookings of unclaimed acts.
If an unclaimed profile is about you, you can:
- claim it using "Claim this profile", and then control what it shows;
- ask us to correct it;
- object to it and ask us to remove it by emailing info@laughbooker.com. We will remove or hide the profile promptly, normally within 14 working days.
7. Agents managing comedians
If you're an agent, you can use Laughbooker to manage the comedians you represent from one account. This includes claiming and editing their profiles, setting availability and fees, and handling enquiries and bookings for them.
When you add or manage a comedian, you confirm that:
- you represent them and have their authority to manage their profile and bookings;
- you have told them that their details will be held and shared on Laughbooker as described in this policy.
Comedians can see and manage their own profile at any time, even when an agent manages it. If a comedian leaves an agent, or tells us the agent no longer represents them, we will remove the agent's access to that comedian's profile. We may ask for proof of representation before giving an agent access.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK–US data bridge where the provider is certified.
9. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data | While your account is active, and up to [2] years after closure |
| Booking and payment records | 6 years, for tax and accounting purposes |
| Enquiries that don't become bookings | 2 years |
| Unclaimed profiles | Until claimed, or until removal is requested or the profile is no longer relevant |
| Analytics data | As set in Google Analytics ([14] months) and Microsoft Clarity |
| Newsletter subscriptions | Until you unsubscribe |
10. Cookies
We use:
- strictly necessary cookies, for log-in sessions, security and Cloudflare Turnstile. These don't need consent.
- analytics cookies, from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These are set only if you accept them.
You can change your choice at any time via [cookie settings link]. See our [Cookie Policy] for details.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict how we use your data;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, including unclaimed profiles;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@laughbooker.com. We will respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
12. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
13. Children
Laughbooker is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will tell account holders by email.
